Zonal Geraniums

  • The single or double flowers bloom from spring through fall in several color varieties including classic red, white, pink and orange. They also come bicolored.
  • Zonal Geraniums are upright plants that can grow to 3 ft tall, they have rounded or kidney shaped leaves that are often marked with zones of bronze, black, dark green, red or yellow, or they could be multicolored.
  • Zonal Geraniums make for wonderful container plants, they offer compact sizes that are well suited for window boxes. 
  • Zonal Geraniums are annuals, so they can be planted in all zones
  • Very easy to grow, Good for cutting
  • They do best in full sun, with well drained soil

Ivy-Leaved Geraniums

  • The natural trailing habit of this geranium is perfectly suited for use in hanging baskets, containers and sloping beds. 
  • These geraniums are offered in single, semi-double and fully double 
  • Ivy leaved Geraniums require full to partial sun, in warmer regions where they will overwinter plant them on banks or hillsides where they will provide abundant year round color and greenery
  • They also need well drained slightly acidic soil to bloom at their best

Scented Geraniums

  • Scented Geraniums are actually species of the family Pelargonium.
  • They have small star shaped blooms in several different shades, including pink, purple and white 
  • To smell them at their best just brush the leaves which give off scents ranging from chocolate to citrus fruit
  • Scented geraniums can be grown anywhere but are usually grown in containers
  • Partial sun is enough for them to produce blooms, But to bloom to their fullest they prefer full sun in well drained soil
  • These geraniums are also annuals which flower all summer until frost
  • Some varieties have edible leaves, 
  • But please check to make sure to have the edible variety before eating
